Another storm day.....

Schools are cancelled again today. Just when it looked like the snow was finally leaving and the air was feeling warmer we get more snow. And lots of it!

That means my daughter Kristi will have a 1.5 days of school this week. We are off to a hockey tournament this week end in Halifax NS. so she will have to miss school.

Her Bantam AA team competed last week end in the provincial championships and won all their games in both round robin play and crossovers to earn the gold medal and "Island" champs title.

This is a picture of my other daughter, Riley and her friend Alisha. Riley is on the right. They are the only two girls on their Atom AA boys team. They finished up their provincal week end with a silver medal. Thanks to some poor refereeing.

I picked up this cross stitch on the week end. It was getting framed. Yes, another Blackbird design. It is called Birds of a Feather. I absolutely love how it turned out. I love how primitive it is.

Other than that I have been working on nothing.

Happy Birthday!!

My oldest daughter Jenna, turns 19 today. Yes, she is a St Paddy's baby. May the luck of the Irish be with you Jenna, on your very special day.

This picture was taken a couple of years ago. Jenna played rugby for PEI. They won gold at The Eastern Canadian Rugby Championships.

She now attends the University of Prince Edward Island.

What have I been working on! I started working on Posies in the Valley quilt. It is another Blackbird Design quilt. It is found in the book In Full Bloom.

I applique with freezer paper. So, I prepared a couple of blocks and finished quilting one.

I absolutely love the designs that the Blackbird girls come up with.

I love the soft colors of this line by Moda- At Water's Edge.

Happy Sewing!! Hope you all have a great day.

A Busy Week.....

It is March Break for the kids this week. I hope that I can find enough to keep them busy and still have time to work on some of my projects.

I finished Mam's Gathering Basket this weekend. It is from a book by Blackbird Designs called Ella's Home Place. It uses the fabrics from Ella's Linen Closet by Moda.

Now I just need to get it quilted.

If anyone would like to make this quilt I think I have enough of the fabrics left over that I would be willing to sell. Email me if interested.

On top of the kids I agreed to look after my 2 of my sisters 6 dogs. I already have a dog of my own plus 4 cats. So... here is Sandy and Tink short for Tinkerbelle. Sandy is a male and Tink, the runt is a female. They are so cute and really good dogs.
